The Horry County Solid Waste Authority has the following educational materials available for free loan from our SWA Resource Library. You may borrow up to three items for a period of three weeks. Lesson Plan Instruction Sheets - includes lesson plans developed and tested by South Carolina teachers about air, energy, solid waste and water. The lesson plans from "Action for a Cleaner Tomorrow" are correlated to the S.C. Curriculum standards for math, language arts, social studies and science.

Modern Marvels - Garbage from The History Channel
Hold your nose. From landfills to recycling, incineration to dumping, this program will make you look at taking out the trash in a whole new light. The program traces the history of disposal and looks at controversies surrounding trash.

Recycle Rex
This animated program follows Recycle Rex and his prehistoric friends as they learn about waste management and recycling firsthand. The dino-kids want to prevent their soccer field from becoming a landfill, but they must change their wasteful habits first. Singing "Don't just toss it, keep it new. We can do it, so can you!"
